The first Mega Millions drawing of May brought good news to many lottery players in New York State. While there was no grand prize winner, several lucky players are waking up with significant winnings.
According to the New York State Lottery, there were no “Big Money” winners from the Friday, May 2 drawing. However, New York saw a number of winners in other prize categories.
Winners in New York State:
- 11 players won 4th place by matching four out of five numbers, missing only the Mega Ball. These tickets won between $1,000 and $2,500, thanks to the new Megaplier feature.
- 28 players won 5th place by matching three out of five numbers, plus the Mega Ball. These tickets earned between $400 and $2,000, again based on the Megaplier.
Friday’s Winning Numbers:
The winning numbers from the May 2 Mega Millions drawing were: 14, 37, 40, 41, 68, with a Mega Ball of 02.
There was no grand prize winner, which means the jackpot for Tuesday’s drawing has now grown to $90 million.The last time a grand prize Mega Millions ticket was sold was on April 18, 2025, when a ticket from Ohio won $112 million.Players are encouraged to check their tickets and try their luck in the upcoming drawing.
