A Lapeer County man was stunned when he won $300,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s 20X Wild Time instant game.
The 58-year-old player, who chose to stay anonymous, said he always plays 20X Wild Time because he can scan non-winning tickets for a second chance. One night, after buying a few tickets, he scratched them and thought his eyes were playing tricks when he saw the $300,000 prize. He asked his wife to scan the ticket on the Lottery app.
“When $300,000 showed up on the screen, I jumped up and started shouting!” he said. “I didn’t get much sleep that night. Winning will change our lives and let us live debt free.”
He bought the winning ticket at Village Station, 4680 Water Street in Columbiaville, about 25 miles northeast of Flint. He recently claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters. He plans to take a trip and pay off debts with the money.
Since its launch in April 2024, players have won over $35 million on 20X Wild Time. Each $5 ticket offers prizes from $5 up to $300,000. Over $10 million in prizes remain, including twelve $2,500 prizes and seventy $500 prizes.
