An Ottawa County man is planning to use his lottery winnings to help others after winning a $667,862 jackpot playing the Michigan Lottery’s Double Win Wild Time Fast Cash game.
The 69-year-old winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said he regularly plays Fast Cash games. He purchased the winning ticket while out to eat with his family.
“I bought a few Fast Cash tickets and saw I matched number 44 with ‘Jackpot’ under it,” he said. “I handed the ticket to my son and joked, ‘What does jackpot mean?’ He freaked out and scanned it on the Lottery app to check. That’s when we realized it was real.”
He added, “Winning is a nice little kicker and will allow me to help others.”
The lucky ticket was purchased at Freemans Leaky Tap, located at 10193 Dickinson Avenue in Walkerville. The retailer has been a hot spot for lottery winners, having sold a $111,368 Fast Cash jackpot ticket earlier this year.
The man recently visited Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim his prize. He plans to share his winnings with family and donate to local charities and his church.
Fast Cash is a series of instant-win games available at Lottery retailers. Ticket prices range from $2 to $30. All Fast Cash games feed into one progressive jackpot, which can be won instantly. The current jackpot amount prints on every ticket and resets after each win.
