A Wayne County woman turned a lucky feeling into a $500,000 payday after playing the Michigan Lottery’s 50X Wild Time instant game.
The 52-year-old winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said she stopped at a gas station with $15 in her pocket and followed her instinct.
“I had a good feeling about the number 13, so I asked for a ticket from the bin labeled 13,” she said. “The clerk gave me a 50X Wild Time ticket, and I won $15. I used the money to buy another ticket. I nearly had a heart attack when I thought I’d won $50,000 — then I put on my glasses and realized it was $500,000!”
She added, “I’ve dreamed of winning a prize like this for a long time. I’m so happy and excited!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Nick’s Petroleum, located at 10005 West Warren Avenue in Dearborn. She recently visited Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. With her winnings, she plans to buy a home, start a small business, and secure her children’s future.
The 50X Wild Time game launched in February 2024. So far, players have won over $62 million. Each $10 ticket offers prizes ranging from $10 to $500,000. More than $29 million in prizes remain, including one $500,000 top prize, 59 prizes of $10,000, and 110 prizes of $1,000.
