Lori Sikora, 66, of Warren, is planning home renovations and a trip to Las Vegas after winning a $219,638 jackpot in the Michigan Lottery’s Fantasy 5 game.
Sikora matched the winning numbers—06-13-17-23-26—in the Dec. 26 drawing. She purchased her winning ticket at the Meijer store on Utica Road in Fraser.
“I’ve been playing Fantasy 5 for years, always choosing family members’ birthdays as my lucky numbers,” Sikora said. “When I saw the winning numbers, I immediately knew I had won. I rushed to tell my husband, and he thought something was wrong.”
Sikora said winning was an exciting experience, especially knowing she could now help her family. She recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize.
With her winnings, Sikora plans to remodel her bathroom, host a baby shower for her daughter, and take a trip to Las Vegas.
Each Fantasy 5 play costs $1. Players can add an additional $1 per play for EZmatch, which offers instant prizes of up to $500, or for Double Play, which gives a second chance to win up to $110,000 in a nightly drawing. Fantasy 5 drawings occur every day at 7:29 p.m., and tickets can be purchased online or at retail locations until 7:08 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
