A $264 million Mega Millions jackpot will be available this Friday, and a Michigan player could become the fifth from the state to win the jackpot on Friday the 13th — a day many consider unlucky.
Michigan players have had unusual luck with Mega Millions on Friday the 13th, with four previous jackpots won on this day. Together, those jackpots totaled $171 million. The past winners are:
- June 13, 2008: $57 million won by a man from Kent City
- May 13, 2011: $27 million won by a man from Kalamazoo
- June 13, 2014: $66 million won by a woman from Port Huron
- October 13, 2017: $21 million won by a man from Waterford
The current jackpot’s cash option is $117.3 million.
The last Mega Millions jackpot won in Michigan was in January 2021. A lottery club from Oakland County won $1.05 billion — the largest jackpot ever won in the state.
Tickets for Friday’s drawing are available until 10:45 p.m. at lottery retailers statewide and online at MichiganLottery.com. Each Mega Millions ticket costs $5 and includes a multiplier that can increase non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times, with a top prize of $10 million.
Mega Millions is sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
