Georgia and Oregon Lottery Winners Urged to Claim $860,000+ Prizes

by Nancy

Lottery players are being urged to check their tickets before it’s too late, as more than $860,000 in unclaimed prizes remain from recent draws.

Two players in Georgia won identical $403,000 jackpots in the Fantasy 5 game on January 20. One ticket was purchased online through the Georgia Lottery app, while the other was bought at a Citgo Quik Mart in Alpharetta, about 30 miles north of Atlanta. Both matched the winning numbers 9-10-12-27-28, beating odds of 1 in 850,668.

So far, neither winner has come forward to claim their prize. Georgia players have 180 days from the draw date to claim winnings. To collect the money, winners must schedule an appointment at the Georgia Lottery headquarters or district offices.

Meanwhile, in Oregon, a massive $328 million Powerball jackpot remains unclaimed since January 18. The winning ticket was sold in Beaverton, near Portland. The winner faces a choice between a lump sum payment of $146.4 million after taxes or 30 annual installments that increase over time. Both options significantly reduce the total prize value.

In Iowa, lottery officials are also searching for the owner of a $50,000 Powerball ticket that is due to expire soon.

With millions in prizes still waiting to be claimed nationwide, lottery officials remind players to double-check their tickets and claim their winnings before deadlines pass.
