A lucky player in Galway has won a life-changing €500,000 jackpot in last night’s Daily Million Plus draw, EuroMillions officials confirmed. This marks the third time this year that someone in Ireland has claimed the top prize in this game.
The winning ticket, a Quick Pick, was bought at Mountbellew Post Office in County Galway on the day of the draw. The winning numbers were 8, 16, 28, 29, 33, 34, with the bonus number 27.
In a remarkable coincidence, just hours later, another player won €255,000 in the EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle. The winning raffle number was I-SBS-10586, making this player the third to win the special top-up prize this month. Six more prizes of €250,000 remain to be won throughout May.
During May, players in Ireland have the chance to win an extra €250,000 on top of the usual €5,000 Raffle prize in every draw.
Darragh O’Dwyer, a National Lottery spokesperson, said: “It was a Friday to remember for players in Galway and Limerick, with two big wins to celebrate this weekend. Although the EuroMillions jackpot was not won, over 61,000 Irish players took home prizes from the EuroMillions and Plus games.”
O’Dwyer added: “One Raffle ticket winner received €255,000, and with six more €250,000 Ireland Only Raffle prizes still available, May is shaping up to be an unforgettable month for players.”
