A lucky player in Drogheda has become Ireland’s latest big EuroMillions winner, claiming a total prize of €255,000 in the Ireland-Only Raffle.
The winning ticket was purchased on the day of the draw (27 May) at Applegreen on Newfoundwell Road, Greenbatter, Drogheda, Co. Louth. The winning raffle code was I-SDL-14299.
Normally, the Ireland-Only Raffle awards ten €5,000 prizes per draw. However, during May, one player in each draw also receives an extra €250,000. This special promotion has created a wave of excitement across the country, with previous top raffle winners from Dublin, Meath, Limerick, Wicklow, and now Louth.
With just one €255,000 prize left to be won in the final draw this Friday, anticipation is high.
National Lottery spokesperson Emma Monaghan confirmed there was no winner of the €198 million EuroMillions jackpot on 27 May. However, more than 59,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus games.
Monaghan congratulated the Drogheda winner, saying: “They’ve just scooped a life-enhancing €255,000 in our special draw. With one more prize to go, the big question is: what county will be next? It could be you!”
