Powerball Jackpot Soars to $42.3 Million After Mother’s Day Rollover

by Nancy

The Powerball jackpot has risen to $42.3 million after no one matched all five numbers plus the Powerball in the Saturday, May 10, drawing. The increase happened overnight, landing on Mother’s Day, which sparked excitement for those hoping to win big.

The winning numbers for the May 10 drawing were 5-20-28-39-42, with the Powerball being 13 and a Power Play multiplier of 2x. Although no jackpot winner emerged, one lucky ticket from West Virginia matched all five numbers to win $1 million.

The new jackpot for the next drawing on Monday, May 12, stands at $42.3 million. The winning numbers for that drawing were 15-16-41-48-60, with the Powerball being 21 and a 3x Power Play multiplier.

While the holiday passed without a winner, players still have another chance at a large prize. If you’re wondering about the odds, or what happens to unclaimed prize money, the Florida Lottery provides more details on how to claim prizes and how long winners have to cash in.
