An Irish EuroMillions player has kicked off their weekend in style after winning a life-changing €255,000 in Friday night’s draw.
The lucky ticket holder was one of 10 winners in the Ireland-Only Raffle, where prizes are usually €5,000. However, as part of a special promotion running through May, the National Lottery added an extra €250,000 to one of the winning raffle codes in each of the nine draws. This week’s winning code, I-SDZ-53784, made one player significantly richer overnight.
In total, more than 81,000 Irish players claimed prizes in Friday’s EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus draws, according to the Irish Mirror.
The main EuroMillions numbers drawn were 04, 07, 14, 33, 36, with 01 and 05 as the Lucky Stars. No ticket across Europe matched all the numbers to claim the €218 million jackpot. One Irish player came close, missing out by just one number, but still secured €1,557 for matching four numbers and both Lucky Stars.
In the EuroMillions Plus draw, the numbers were 21, 36, 38, 44, and 48. While no one claimed the €500,000 jackpot, 92 players in Ireland each won €2,000 by matching four numbers.
The EuroMillions jackpot will now roll over, increasing the excitement and anticipation ahead of the next draw. For thousands of players in Ireland, Friday’s results still brought plenty to celebrate.
