COACHELLA, Calif. — The Coachella Valley continues to be a hotspot for lottery winners, with two recent big-ticket prizes reported.
On Friday, a lucky player won nearly $1.5 million from a Mega Millions ticket purchased at Stater Bros. on Highway 111 in La Quinta. The ticket matched five of the six winning numbers in that evening’s drawing, missing only the Mega Ball. The winning numbers were 11, 19, 31, 49, and 56, with the Mega Ball being 16.
Earlier in the week, on Wednesday, a ticket sold at an AM/PM in Coachella matched five numbers in the SuperLotto Plus drawing, but missed the Mega number. This ticket is worth $33,186. The winning numbers in the SuperLotto Plus drawing were 1, 4, 12, 15, and 28, with the Mega number 15.
As of now, it is unclear whether either winner has claimed their prizes.
Over the past year, the Coachella Valley has seen several lottery wins, including a $2.15 million Mega Millions ticket sold at Stater Bros. in Cathedral City in March and a $2 million Mega Millions prize from AM/PM in Cathedral City in September.
