Elizabeth LaCroix, a resident of Edmore in Montcalm County, had a surprising moment at work when she received an email from the Michigan Lottery announcing her $130,000 Fantasy 5 jackpot win.
LaCroix matched all five winning numbers — 04, 05, 06, 08, and 12 — in the May 27 drawing. She purchased her ticket online through MichiganLottery.com.
“I’ve been playing Fantasy 5 for some time and always buy tickets online,” LaCroix said. “When I got the email at work, I thought it was a small prize. But when I logged into my account and saw $130,000, I started screaming! I even showed my coworker and sent a screenshot to my husband. It was hard to focus on work after that!”
At 56 years old, LaCroix recently claimed her prize at Lottery headquarters. She plans to use the money to build an addition on her home.
Fantasy 5 tickets cost $1 each. Players can add EZmatch for another $1 per play, which offers a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Double Play can also be added for an extra $1 per play, giving a second chance to win up to $110,000 in a nightly drawing. The Fantasy 5 jackpot starts at $100,000 and goes to players who match all five numbers drawn from 1 to 39.
