$50,000 Powerball Prize Still Unclaimed in Louisiana

by Nancy

A Powerball player who bought a ticket at a Louisiana convenience store has yet to claim a $50,000 prize—and time is running out.

The winning ticket, purchased at Meraux Food Store located at 2004 Paris Road in Chalmette, Louisiana, matched four numbers plus the Powerball in the December 16, 2024, draw. The final day to claim the prize is June 14, giving the winner less than three weeks to come forward.

Powerball’s official website lists unclaimed prizes, and this $50,000 win is among several still waiting to be collected. According to the site, the Louisiana winner’s ticket falls under the “Match 4 + Powerball” prize tier.

In another unclaimed case, a ticket worth $2 million remains outstanding in Colorado. That ticket, also bought on December 16, was purchased at a Safeway Fuel Mini in store C-2612 and won under the “Match 5 with Power Play” prize level.

Lottery officials across the country are urging players to check their tickets, as millions of dollars remain unclaimed. In Massachusetts, a $100,000 winning ticket sold at a gas station in Dalton has also gone unclaimed, sparking a search for the lucky holder.

With prizes this large at stake, lottery officials emphasize how important it is for players to double-check their tickets before they expire.
