An Irish Lotto player is celebrating an Easter weekend to remember after winning €134,388 in the EuroMillions draw on Friday night.
The lucky winner matched five numbers and one lucky star, bringing home the impressive sum. The winning numbers in the draw were 20, 27, 35, 39, and 48, with the lucky stars being 3 and 8.
The National Lottery confirmed that the winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on Thursday, April 17, at Centra Delgany, Wicklow Arms, Delgany, Co. Wicklow.
Although the player came close to the massive €52,448,887 EuroMillions jackpot, they were just one number away from claiming the top prize.
Lotto spokesperson Emma Monaghan shared her excitement: “What a fantastic start to the Easter Bank Holiday weekend for our players! While the EuroMillions jackpot wasn’t won, over 47,000 players in Ireland won prizes, including our lucky winner who took home €134,388.”
In addition to this win, a Dublin player secured the Lotto Plus 2 top prize of €250,000, while an online player won €110,928 by matching five numbers and the bonus in the main Lotto draw.
The Lotto Plus 2 winner from Dublin bought their Quick Pick ticket at Dunnes Stores, Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, while the online winner matched five numbers and the bonus in the main Lotto draw. The winning numbers for the main Lotto draw were 10, 16, 19, 21, 42, 45, with the bonus being 25.
