Three lottery players in Louisiana have yet to claim their $50,000 prizes, and officials are urging them to come forward before it’s too late. All three winning tickets were purchased earlier this year, and time is running out for two of the winners, according to a report from NOLA.
The first ticket was bought at Brother Food Mart in Metairie, about an hour from Baton Rouge. The ticket won in the March 18 Powerball drawing with the numbers 10, 17, 20, 39, 44, and a Powerball of 16. The winner has until September 14 to claim the prize.
The second ticket was purchased at Lakeview Discount in New Orleans for the April 6 drawing. The winning numbers were 22, 27, 44, 52, 69, with a Powerball of 09. This winner has until October 3 to claim their prize.
The third winning ticket was sold at a Racetrac in Baton Rouge for the July 13 drawing. The winning numbers were 09, 55, 59, 66, 69, and the Powerball 21. This winner has more time, with a claim deadline of January 9, 2025.
Louisiana Lottery officials advise winners to check their tickets carefully. Players should sign the back of their ticket immediately and contact the Lottery headquarters at 225-297-2000 to start the claiming process. They must bring their ticket to the Baton Rouge Lottery office within 180 days of the drawing or risk losing the prize.
In addition to these three, a fourth unclaimed ticket—a Mega Millions winner worth $10,000—was sold at a convenience store in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. The winner has until February 12, 2025, to claim this prize.
These Louisiana winners are not alone in waiting to claim large prizes. A California player recently won a $44 million jackpot, buying the ticket at a Ralphs grocery store about 50 miles south of Los Angeles. Meanwhile, in Massachusetts, a man won $4 million on a Powerball ticket last week. He bought the ticket while shopping for a birthday present for a friend.
