A lucky New Jersey lottery player turned a $30 ticket into $600,000 in a recent Colossal Crossword game win. Remarkably, another player from the same state won the same prize just one day earlier.
The first winning ticket was purchased on December 15 at a 7-Eleven on South Summit Avenue in Hackensack, Bergen County. The second was bought the following day at Krauszer’s on North Broadway in South Amboy, Middlesex County.
The Hackensack winner shared their shock, telling the New Jersey Lottery, “That’s all I play, the Crossword. I probably sat and looked at it for like 20 minutes.”
The New Jersey Lottery website shows two more $600,000 prizes remain unclaimed. These prizes might already be bought but have yet to be claimed.
Besides these large prizes, many other cash rewards are still available. There are seven chances to win $2,000, and 889 prizes of $500 remain. Smaller prizes of $250, $150, $100, $75, and $50 are also up for grabs, with over 1,000 prizes left in each category.

Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot has climbed to $1.15 billion after no winner matched all numbers in the Christmas Eve draw. The winning numbers on Tuesday were 11, 14, 38, 45, 46, and Mega Ball 3.
Mega Millions officials encourage players to buy tickets ahead of Friday’s 11 p.m. drawing. Joshua Johnston, the game’s lead director, called the jackpot a perfect holiday gift and said winning it would be a dream come true for anyone celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or the Winter Solstice.
