LANSING, MI – A Mount Pleasant man has defied the odds by winning the Michigan Lottery’s Fantasy 5 jackpot for the second time in just over a year.
Kelly Ralston, 61, claimed a $110,000 prize after matching all five numbers—02, 03, 07, 22, and 28—in the Fantasy 5 Double Play drawing on May 10.
“I’ve continued to play Fantasy 5 since I won last year, but I never thought I’d hit it big again,” said Ralston. “When I scanned my ticket the next morning using the Lottery app and saw $110,000, I was stunned. I still can’t believe it.”
Ralston purchased his winning ticket at the Oil City EZ Mart, located at 48 South Coleman Road in Mount Pleasant.
This latest win comes just over a year after Ralston’s first Fantasy 5 jackpot, when he won $115,000 in the April 30, 2024, drawing. He used that prize to buy a camper, help his family, and complete home improvements. This time, Ralston plans to use his winnings to retire.
“With this second win, I’m ready to retire and live comfortably,” he said. “I plan to keep playing and maybe I’ll be back for a third big win!”
The Double Play feature is an add-on to the regular Fantasy 5 game. For an extra $1, players can use their Fantasy 5 numbers in a second drawing. Matching all five Double Play numbers results in a $110,000 prize.
The Michigan Lottery reminds players to check their tickets regularly. In 2024, a $250,000 winning Powerball ticket sold in Bloomfield Hills went unclaimed, with the prize redirected to the state’s School Aid Fund.
