Swansea Store Sells $1M Powerball Ticket in May 14 Drawing

by Nancy

SWANSEA — A lucky Powerball player is $1 million richer, thanks to a winning ticket sold at a local Swansea store.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, a $1 million winning ticket was purchased at Singha Liquors, located at 27 Market Street. The ticket matched the first five numbers drawn in the Powerball game on Wednesday, May 14.

The winning numbers were: 4, 10, 24, 29, 53, with the Powerball number 4.

Singha Liquors will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Another winning ticket worth $50,000 was sold in Halifax at Halifax Market & Deli, 337 Plymouth Street. That ticket matched four of the five numbers, plus the Powerball number. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus.

According to the Massachusetts Lottery, matching all five numbers without the Powerball wins $1 million. Matching four numbers plus the Powerball earns a $50,000 prize. To win the jackpot, a ticket must match all five numbers and the Powerball.

Winners have up to one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes.

The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Saturday night, May 17, with an estimated jackpot of $123 million. Tickets cost $2 each and can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. that evening. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
