A Powerball player in Brooklyn has won $50,000 after matching four numbers and the Powerball in Saturday’s drawing.
The winning numbers were 5, 20, 28, 39, 42, with the red Powerball number 13. The lucky ticket was purchased at BSK Grocery Store Inc., located at 4701 8th Avenue in Brooklyn.
To win the Powerball jackpot, players must match all five white numbers drawn from 1 to 69, plus the red Powerball number drawn from a separate pool of 1 to 26. Matching four white numbers and the Powerball earns a third-place prize of $50,000.
Powerball tickets cost $2 and can be bought daily at any New York Lottery retailer. On draw days—Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday—ticket sales close at 10 p.m. Drawings take place at 11 p.m.
Players are encouraged to check their tickets using the official New York Lottery app or order online through Jackpot.com to ensure they never miss a draw. First-time users can receive a free ticket with their initial deposit.
The New York Lottery remains the most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.8 billion to support public schools across the state during the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
