The town of Youghal is celebrating after a local player won the €500,000 top prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw held on Friday, April 26.
The lucky ticket was a Quick Pick, purchased at Lidl on Mill Road in Youghal.
This is the second time this year that a EuroMillions Plus top prize has been won in County Cork. The previous €500,000 prize was claimed on March 21, with the winning ticket sold at Dunnes Stores in Ballyvolane Shopping Centre, Cork city.
The winning numbers in Friday night’s EuroMillions Plus draw were 5, 25, 28, 35, and 49.
Darragh O’Dwyer, a spokesperson for the National Lottery, said:
“What a night for Youghal as a player in the town has claimed a life-enhancing amount of money, winning the EuroMillions Plus top prize of €500,000. This is the 14th EuroMillions Plus win in 2025 so far.”
He added that more than 42,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus draws on the night.
The National Lottery is now encouraging all players in the Cork area to check their tickets carefully.
