ROCKFORD, Ill. – A local convenience store in Rockford has become a lucky hotspot after selling a scratch-off lottery ticket worth $10 million — the top prize for the game.
The winning ticket was sold at Stop N Shop, located at 2501 N. Huffman Boulevard. For selling the ticket, the store will receive a $100,000 bonus from the Illinois Lottery.
“We’ve sold a few big winning tickets before, from $100,000 to $900,000,” said Raj Patel, the store’s manager, in a news release. “I kept saying the next one had to be a million-dollar winner, but I never expected $10 million!”
According to the Illinois Lottery, this is the first top prize claimed from the new $10 Million Bankroll game, which launched in November 2024. The game features three $10 million prizes and fifteen $1 million prizes.
The Illinois Lottery advises all winners to sign the back of their ticket and store it safely until they are ready to claim their prize.
