With just under three weeks remaining before a EuroMillions prize was set to expire, the winner has finally come forward to claim their life-changing reward.
The fortunate ticket-holder, who purchased their ticket last year in Winchester, is now £300,000 richer.
“We always get excited when we receive a claim from a lucky winner, especially when they realize they’ve won such a significant prize,” said a spokesperson from The National Lottery. “We’re eager to help them through the process so they can start enjoying their win as soon as possible.”
The claim will now undergo a validation process to ensure it meets all game rules and terms. This step helps maintain the integrity of The National Lottery.
Once validated, the prize will be paid during an appointment with one of Allwyn’s winners’ advisers. At that time, the winner will decide whether they wish to make their win public.
No details will be shared about whether the winner is an individual or a syndicate, or the exact location of the ticket purchase unless the winner opts to go public.
Players can check their tickets online through the National Lottery app or website, or in-store. When playing online, players receive an email notification if they win, and they can also scan physical tickets through the app to check for prizes.
By participating in National Lottery games, players not only have the chance to win but also help fund a wide range of good causes. Each week, about £30 million is raised for projects across the UK. Since its launch, the National Lottery has contributed over £50 billion to support arts, sports, community groups, and preserve UK landmarks.
Players have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize.
