Two Georgia lottery players struck it big in the April 23 Fantasy 5 drawing, each winning $447,264 by matching all five numbers, according to the Georgia Lottery.
The winning tickets were purchased at a Valero gas station in Griffin and a Publix supermarket in Norcross. Both players overcame long odds—1 in 850,668—to claim the top prize. The winning numbers drawn were 4, 6, 22, 24, and 26.
As of April 24, only the Griffin winner had claimed the prize. The second ticket, sold in Norcross, remained unclaimed, a Georgia Lottery spokesperson told McClatchy News.
That night’s luck didn’t stop there. A Powerball ticket sold at a Grab N Go in Albany won $50,000 after matching four white balls and the red Powerball. The ticket missed the $151 million jackpot by just one number.
Georgia lottery winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prizes. Officials recommend signing the back of the ticket to protect ownership.
